"Lichens" is an original work that blends photography, animation, and video mapping on surfaces within the Atlantic Forest. The work begins with the photographic recording of lichens in their natural environment, then the photos are digitally treated and animated, and finally mapped with a projector onto surfaces similar to those of their initial recordings. The idea behind this series is to connect us with little-known yet vital realms for the functioning of the planet, exploring the realm of fantasy and giving "life" to these important and special organisms.
Lichens are organisms formed by interspecific association between algae and fungi. It is a harmonious relationship between different species: algae and fungi. This ecological relationship is called obligatory mutualism or symbiosis.
The exhibition format is being developed for mid-2024 and will feature projections and physical installations in spaces open to the public.
